I don't know what the weather is like where you are but we are experiencing typical summer weather down here in the bayou and like every year....I hate it. The heat, humidity and the combination of the two all contribute to making me cranky and also make me long for change in my life. Usually about this time, I start dreaming of living someplace else.....someplace where the seasons truly change.....someplace where it's cold and I can wear cute fall clothes and boots and a real winter coat. Now that is something that I don't even own! Most of the time, I really have no need of one down here in Louisiana.
This past year we were blessed with some snow. Not a lot of snow, mind you...and true....it was gone by lunchtime...but seriously....for a few hours, I got to enjoy a snow day. I got out in it and I played and I took some pictures and I listened.......I listened to the snow falling. Have you ever heard snow falling? It really does make a sound....a pleasant, calming sound to me....and I am dreaming right now while sitting in this air conditioned building, having just come out of the heat, that I'm there....listening to the peaceful sound of snow falling around me.
Today is Wordless Wednesday......one of my favorite days of the week.
For the past couple of weeks, I've been linking up with Tanya over at Miller Racing Family for the Wordless Wednesday party. It has rapidly become one of the highlights of my week. There are always so many great entries over there and I've made some new friends through this great party. If you haven't participated in it, you should give it a try. If you aren't interested in participating, at least hop over and see the photos of those that are. You will definitely be glad you did!
I'm a little late linking up today so I'm in a hurry to get over there to see what I've missed! I'm so happy that you stopped by my little corner of the world and I hope wherever you are that you are as cool as you wanna be!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Wordless Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI say these photos were worth waiting for. I am so with you and wanting the cool temps. The snow would be great for my dead and brown yard.
Thanks for linking up and for the sweet comments.
Have a fabulous day!
Haha, you're wanting snow and I'm trying to avoid it. After this winter and getting pounded with it, I never want to see it again.
ReplyDeleteI needed those pictures to cool me off! They look so refreshing right now!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by ladies!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I'll trade ya!
Candace~♥
I like "hearing you think" in your posts - definitely a blog of substance! Stopping by from WW!
ReplyDeletehappy ww! snow is never on my list. I love the summer just not too hot or humid. I do love looking at icy pictures something cozy about being in a warm spot looking at something so cold.
ReplyDeleteI am SO with you!! I'm in FL so we never see snow unless we travel but these hot temps are awful! One day, I'm going to convince everyone in our family that we need to head back up north. I am NOT a FL girl! Do you think if I leave with my mom's only grandkids that she'll follow? I don't know if I can take the risk - I'd be lost without her, hehe!
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Thought I'd start your day with an award: http://foodfloozie.blogspot.com/2010/07/where-is-my-joan-rivers-jewelry.html
ReplyDeleteI don't get much snow where I'm from either! Love it whenever we do. I'm MELTING these days.

Your snow pictures are beautiful! We got a little bit of snow here in MS this year...but not much! I would love to stay a month or two in a place where it really snows! But then I'm pretty sure I would get sick of it and want to be back in the no-snow south:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting! I love the snow pictures-I'm in NJ so we get a lot. I loved it but I love summer more. I'm short on time this week as I have company coming but I'll come back and catch up here....have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments! They have made me smile this morning. Feel free to stop in again and cool off sometime. :0)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Candace~♥
Kelly, if I were your mom and you had my only grandkids, I might follow you anywhere sweetie! :0)
ReplyDeleteCandace~♥
yes, please send some snow or even rain. three days of 100 degree temps are taking a toll on me. i'm exhausted and cranky...lol.
ReplyDeleteYour snow pictures look very lovely. I know what you mean about liking the seasons. That is one very nice thing about living in Oregon is we get all the seasons:) Have a blessed day and thank you for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Candace! Those pictures just make a body FEEL cooler, even if it IS only mind over matter! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy sister and brother-in-law lived in Alexandria when he was in the Air Force many years ago and I remember it being soooo hot and humid and every afternoon it seemed there was a pop-up thundershower which didn't help a bit in cooling it down. :-/ It just made it steamier!
I do love the seasons that we experience here in Ohio. They each possess their own special beauty!
hi Candace
ReplyDeleteafter this winter I didn't think I would ever want to see snow again, but after our 4th heat wave this summer and hitting 103 yesterday, bring it on!!!
great pics!
Dennis
That is lovely...intersting how we want something that is over there. I hate it when it's hot, but then I hate it when it's cold...maybe I can find a balance?? These pics are great!!
ReplyDeletePS...I love that you said you have 'gypsy' in your soul...I totally connected with that and feel the same way!!
Thank you all for stopping by and saying hi! I just love to see all of your bright smiling faces! You make my days a whole lot brighter.
ReplyDeletekayni...bless you girl! At least we have A/C down here...in fact you could hang meat in my house. :0)
Elena, It's nice to have you visit! Thank you! I've always wanted to visit the Pacific Northwest. It's on my bucket list! Have a great weekend!
Jewel, Alexandria has always seemed hot to me....even hotter than here...and it's really not that much farther south. I've never enjoyed Central LA very much at all. I have only been to Ohio once...and that was to Cincinnati. I was really impressed with how pretty it was there coming in from Kentucky. Maybe someday I can travel up into your part of the country. For someone who loves to travel like I do, I sure don't get to do it very much!
Chef Dennis, Thanks so much! My husband is from up north and he has told me that he hates snow...however, he's just about "thawed out". ha!
Eneida, I know, right? I'm always thinking that something else is better. Why is that?? Guess we're just funny creatures and I'm probably the funniest one of them all...funny as in odd, I mean. :0)
So you have a bit of Gypsy in your Soul, as well huh? We're kindred spirits dear!
TGIF friends! So happy about that! Candace~♥
Girl, you did better than me! I didn't even link up yesterday! But hey, I'm back from my hiatus!!! Can you believe we got snow???? How crazy is that! Kind of like when I lived in Texas....everyone said it doesn't snow in Texas....oh boy....does it ever!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of the snow....it is definitely better than all the rain of late!!!
Beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hope you are having a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteCandace~♥
Beautiful photos.....funny, that is EXACTLY what it looked like here in the Carolina's in February. It was such a fluke of weather, but really enjoyable for the 4 hours it was here until it completely melted away! Roz
