Today, I am linking up for the very first PHOTO ROULETTE FRIDAY with CARA over at MISCHIEF AND LAUGHS. You never know what you are going to get when you go to a particular folder and find a particular photo based on a number. This one happened to be a photo of something special and one that I am happy to share with you today. It is straight from the camera....no editing necessary!
My husband and I live in the home that my parents built after I was grown and gone. My father passed away and my mom moved on to another city and when she did, my husband and I bought this home from her. My daddy was a big, tough Texan who loved this home and he planted the flowers shown above about 23 years ago. Those were the only ones he planted here and every year they bloom to remind me of him. My husband shot this photo one morning before work. It blesses my heart every time I see it.
Happy Friday everyone! Hop on over and see CARA and view the wonderful entries that she has in her party or better yet, link up with us and have some fun!
I learn more about you all the time.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you find what you learn interesting and that it never stops! Thanks for visiting, Sweetie!

awe.....look how sweet your husband is...he posted a comment! I love the story behind the flowers, what an incredible reminder of your dad you have. "Your dad was a big tough Texan"...LOL ok, you know it won't be long before I ask if you were adopted cause we have way tooooooo many similarities! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex! I hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteMitzi, I love finding new out new stuff about you! *hugs*
That is so pretty. What a wonderful way to remember your dad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful memory you have, Candace! How very precious and such a sweet reminder of your dad.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was a plumber and his hands were big and rough from a life of hard work but he always planted and tended the flowers in our yard, too.
Neat story!
ReplyDeleteI may have to check this meme out next week. I wish I had had time to read your post yesterday...I would've had time to do it!
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers; so cool that they remind you of your dad!
I totally love this photo for what it represents. How neat is it that the one action, the one time of planting, now will forever be a reminder of your father's presence? That is priceless!
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much! I am not sure what I will do if we ever sell the house and move. Maybe I can transplant them into a beautiful pot and move them with me?? You gardeners out there might know better than I do. I've taken plants from a pot to a garden but I don't think I've ever reversed that. I'm so thankful that my sweet husband captured this beautiful photo. I was reminded of it when I had to search for the particular picture to post on Photo Roulette. Hope you all are having a great weekend! Candace
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, hope you come back again soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet photo, made even sweeter by the feelings it evokes.
Thank you for stopping by, Amy!
