Hello and welcome! TGIF! I sure needed today to be Friday....the start of an unusually long weekend for me. Four whole days that will steam right on by, I'm sure! Isn't that always the way it goes?
I've been loving some blog hops lately. It's such a great way to meet new friends and find new blogs to read. I don't know about you; but, I love finding new friends and new blogs to read. I'm following a gazillion of them and love to read each and every one.
This week I'm linking up for the first time with Aloha Friday hosted by Kailani over at Island Life. I've never had the pleasure of visiting Hawaii, but as I understand it, Aloha Friday is the day that to take it easy and look forward to the weekend. I do that naturally here in de bayou so what better way than to link up with this great meme today!
Playing seems to be really easy......
To participate, there's just one question:
How does your family celebrate the 4th of July?
My family doesn't have a specific tradition on celebrating our 4th of July. Every year the activities are different. We don't huge celebrations in the area that we live in so we have always spent our 4th of July very simply. 4th of July typically means "family" for us. In the past, it has involved yummy summer BBQ and party foods and fireworks and sometimes watching movies together as a family or just hanging out. We either shoot our own at home or if we are visiting out of town, we will try to catch a fireworks display in the area. This year we are celebrating at home and resting. There will be plenty of yummy food and we will be shooting our own fireworks at home. Fun!
Just post this question and answer it on your blog. Hop on over to Island Life and link up! Be sure and thank Kailani for hosting this wonderful party and take the opportunity to visit some of the others that are linked up. Don't forget to let them know that you have visited by leaving a comment with the link to your blog so that they can return the visit! That's all there is to it!
Aloha Friday everyone!
Hi. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who hasn't been to Hawaii. Happy Friday and 4th of July to you.
ReplyDeleteHi my name is claire and i found your blog through kayla and would love to follow you. You are interesting to read about i would love it if you liked my blog and would follow me back! I am just getting started so my site really doesn't have that much but I hope it has enough to keep you interested!
ReplyDeleteI agree 100% about taking it easy on fridays! But as for the 4th of July my family has never really celebrated this holiday either but in july of 2009 we had a baby boy on july 5th so now (this is the 1st year) we celebrate it with family and friends with fire works and great food celebrating our independence and the birth of our first son!
