What's going on?
of course....
60 of the New Hampshire Seacoast's finest restaurants will make their appearance serving their best dishes to a happy crowd of foodies. Me included!
We went last year and had a blast. The weather was perfect. The food was fantastic. We have spent an entire year in anticipation of going again. The weekend for it is finally here.
From Lobster Alfredo Pizza....
To several varieties of chowda, bisques and stews....
We nibbled our way through the Food Tents...
Petey's Summertime Seafood makes our absolute favorite of all clam chowda and the standard by which we measure all others. They were serving fish chowda instead of their clam chowda last year so we bypassed their tent to try some others. Rye Harbor Lobster served a fluffy chowda which was clam chowda topped with lobster in a butter sherry sauce. The butter sherry sauce makes for the best lobster roll that I've ever eaten - (another blog post entirely!) and it was very tasty on top of the chowda; but I'm a purest and prefer it without the "fluff.
Old Salt Restaurant at Lamie's Inn served up an amazing lobster stew. Check out the ingredients...
It was delicious!
The seafood and corn bisque was amazing. By far, it had the most flavor of anything that we tried that day. If they had a restaurant, I would be driving to the coast often for this stuff.
Chowdas, bisques and stews were not the only things being served at the festival. There was really something for everyone there.
What festival in New England is complete with Sausage Grinders with Peppers and Onions?
and Fried Dough...
And you simply cannot have a Seafood Fest on the coast of New England without Lobster, right?
As you can see, it was in abundance.
At festivals, you gotta have music, right?
And in New England, there are always adult beverages...
And where there is music AND adult beverages, you will most definitely find dancing...
There were arts and crafts....
And food products...
And cooking demonstrations...
So much to do....
So much to see...
So much to eat...
Now if the weather will just cooperate like it did last year, it should be an awesome day!
