Just another Wednesday....

Sitting outside on the deck after work waiting on David to finish his work day, I was captivated by the beautiful colors in our backyard.

The maples are so gorgeous this year.   I love how the sunlight danced on the leaves.  The reds and oranges and golds were stunning.

In the summer, the individual trees get lost in the sea of green; but, in the fall, each one stands out with it's unique color.  After a hard day, takeout and a Redbox movie were necessary.    Yes, I'm the crazy woman in the passenger seat of the car that you see around town snapping photos.   These three were from the end of our street.

David told me about this Hobbit House that he found recently on the way home from the Post Office.   I find that fascinating.

I love living in a place where the seasons change.  I've always dreamed of New England.  All of the books that I've read and photographs that I've seen have called to me.  I knew that I had to, at least, visit.  I had no idea that the paths that I would choose in my life would bring me here to live someday.

After almost four years, I have completely settled in here.  I have friends and family that I enjoy spending time with.  Every direction that I drive, there is something beautiful to see and photograph.  I still dream of packing it all up and living in a van or a bus.  Those dreams are vivid when the wind is blowing outside and the snow is falling.  When I'm leaving my nice warm home and trudging through the snow in my work clothes and snow boots, they are constant.  I think, if it were up to me, I would leave here after the first snow fall or Thanksgiving and head South.  I would find a nice sandy beach and some warm water.  I would enjoy ocean breezes and sunsets every day until the end of April when I would head back New England for Summer and Fall.   Yeah, that would be the life.

Until that door opens, I will bloom where I'm planted and keep my eyes open for the beauty that surrounds me.   Blessings to each of you.

Thanks for stopping by!

Salmon with Sriracha Sauce, Cilantro and Lime

It's been fun revisiting this blog and discovering all of my unpublished drafts.  Most of them are just photos that remind of the good times my life has been blessed with.   Dinners prepared, my travels, old hobbies, new friends and grandbabies are my most photographed subjects.  Speaking of grandbabies...

We now have two and a third is due any day now.  Yes, our beloved grandgirl is going to be the best big sister and cousin.  She's 4 now.  Time certainly flies.

It seems like just yesterday and at the same time forever since we sold our home and moved to New Hampshire.  The grandgirl was brand new.  What an exciting and crazy time in our life that was?

Fall has arrived and as beautiful as it is out there.  I'm still dreaming of summer.  Oh, how I love sandy beaches, warm breezes, music and fresh healthy seafood.

It wouldn't be my blog if I didn't
share some kind of food with you, right?

I'm taking it back to last summer with my very favorite salmon recipe.   Our local grocery which has, sadly, opened and closed all in the time that I've been away advertised freshly flown in Wild Alaskan salmon which was perfect for this recipe I had been saving.

You can find the recipe at:

Is there anybody out there?

I've been dusting the cobwebs off
around here and wondering....

Is there anyone still out there?

It seems like forever since I've been here.  I had to remember how to post.  I'm still not sure that I have it all down again.

I got a smart phone and it has taken over my life.

Instagram...Pinterest...Tumblr...
Twitter...Flickr...Yelp...Foodspotting
Facebook...G+

It's just so convenient to snap and post from my phone on those sites.  With all of the busyness in our lives these days, I almost never have time to sit at the computer and blog.

Am I the only one?

I haven't figured out the Blogger app
well enough to successfully post from there.

If only....

This poor blog wouldn't seem so
neglected if I could post on the fly.

I have run into some of you out there
posting on the fly with me.

I love keeping up with you.

Connecting with all of you is what
made blogging so much fun.

I have tried visiting your blogs with my phone; but I can't seem to comment using it.   Seeing your beautiful photos and hearing about your lives is wonderful.

I miss the connection of letting you know
that I've paid a visit and really enjoyed your posts.

It's frustrating.

In case you are still out there somewhere and want to connect, please feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a message.

michiamocandace@gmail.com

Maybe you are hanging out in some of instant
post on the fly places
and we just need to connect.

I would love that.

michiamocandace is my handle
on my of those sites.

Look me up?

As you can see, the seasons are
changing up here.

I think it's time for a change for me, as well.

Happy Sunday,
~Candace

Goodbye 2013! We will remember you fondly.

Happy New Year, Friends!

While I had every intention of blogging my way through 2013, that obviously didn't happen. I may not have spent time on the blog; but I did spend 2013 enjoying life, family and New England and exploring other forms of social media.

If you are friends with me on Facebook or follow me on Instagram or even Google+, you have seen most of these photos and kept up with us throughout the year. If you have not, I invite you take a little walk through 2013 as I rewind the year in video. What a ride it has been!

I hope that your year has been amazing, as well, and that 2014 brings happiness and health to you and your family.

With much love and thankfulness,
Candace
