Photo Dump....

We are heading out in the morning on our first adventure since we moved to New Hampshire. In anticipation of this exciting event, I just dumped the photos off of my camera to make certain that I had plenty of room to take more. This is what I found....

The grandgirl came to visit with her Granna and Pops for the afternoon while her Mommy was at work. Look at that smile!  Hers...not mine.
Isn't it fabulous?

Yes, I still have boxes to unpack.  She enjoyed hanging on to them while trying to stand.  She's such a cutie!  The boxes can wait.

David and I took a walk to explore a little bit of our neighborhood the other day.  We had just a little bit of snow.  I love the old houses in this town.  They have such character.
You don't get that with the new houses.

We have a post office box so we had not checked our physical mailbox since we moved in the apartment.  Imagine our surprise when we found that our mailbox has a fleur de lis on it.  It is the only one in the building bearing a fleur de lis.  It may be the only fleur de lis on any mailbox in New Hampshire.  It looks like this mailbox has been there for a long time just waiting on our arrival.  I do believe that God has a sense of humor. I love it when cool things happen like that.

So life hasn't been absolutely perfect since we have been up here.  We have had a little bit of drama to try to distract us from the goodness of God.  It failed.  We took the car that we shipped up here to a quick oil change place the other day as it was time for the maintenance. As we were following the instructions of the employee guiding us into the bay, we hit the protective lip around the bay and knocked our exhaust system out from under the car.  Yes, it was a mess.  So needless to say....we had to get that fixed.  The quick oil change place took care of paying for the damage completely so we were just out a little bit of our time.  While David was inside dropping of the car, I got the opportunity to snap a photo of the barn across the street from the repair shop.  I think we have established that I like barns....new, old and even the ones that are falling down.  I thought it would look good in black and white.  What do you think?

I've shared with you that our lovely vintage apartment came without a stove and refrigerator.  Shortly after we moved in, the landlord remembered that he had one that we could borrow until summer.  David and I bought a two burner hot plate and a toaster oven so we're all set for cooking in the new place.  We did, however, need some additional counter space in order to accommodate said appliances.  This is where Nana's came to the rescue.  This place is amazing.  It is stocked full of junk treasures.  I was able to find just what I needed at very reasonable prices to fill the empty spaces and put my appliances on so that I can prepare meals more easily.
Can you say Ethan Allen?
You have to dig for the treasures....
but they are most definitely there.
Thanks Nana!

We had the opportunity the other day to pop into the church that my in-laws attend.  My father-in-law was doing some work in the church and David went to give him a hand moving the baptismal font.  While they were working, I took the opportunity to take a few photos of this magnificent old building.

The church was built around 1900 and to me, it is the prettiest church in town.  I love the architectural details.

Christmas Eve service is at 7 p.m.  All the candles will be lit at the end of the pews.  What a lovely place to worship!  Did I mention that it is close enough to walk?
We just might do that.

A shot of the outside of the church.  I just love this little door.

I'm leaving you with a photo of a New Hampshire winter sky.  I will be seeing a lot more of these, I'm sure. There are more photos on the camera including some photos of tonight's dinner.  I made Asian food and it was fabulous.  I'm too tired to share them with you tonight though.  I must get my beauty rest as we are headed on our adventure bright and early in the morning. The weather is supposed to get nasty tomorrow evening so we want to be back home before that begins.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Wherever you are and whatever you are doing, I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend.

  1. Those pictures are absolutely beautiful! I love barns, too; it seems the more run down they are, the neater they are.

  2. I love old churches especially. Somehow they feel like they were built with more care but I suppose that might not be true. It sounds like you are settling in and enjoying your new home...have fun on your adventure today. I think mine will be a trip to the tile store....whoohoo!

  4. Looks like you're living in wonderland ! ! Love the old houses, snow, the barn...and looks like Nana's is the place to go "Junkin"..The church reminds me of the one described in Jan Karon's Mitford book series. I can just see her "Father Tim" going in and out of that red door. :o)

  6. Hello dear one,
I've missed you so much! LOVE all these photos ~ great to see your gorgeous smile along with the little one. :-) I love the look of your new home...the old architecture, etc. The church looks gorgeous! I can just imagine what it will look like on Christmas Eve.

I'm still in the midst of a jillion boxes and honestly, out of room to put things. I'm going to get a small storage unit for a short time so I can heal these knees and get this place in order. I can't honestly finish until some stuff gets moved out of the way. I do feel very peaceful here and for that I'm immensely grateful!

Please email me your address when you can. One of these days I'm going to get something in the mail to you. :-) So happy for you!!

    xoxo
